I’m very proud to announce that Emma Green Design has been shortlisted for an award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2021. Our St James’s project has been shortlisted for this year’s Interior Design Category ‘Living Space – London’ award.
My clients wanted to refurbish several rooms in their gorgeous and well-proportioned Victorian home and called me in to assist them.
For the double reception room, they wanted part of the room to be an adult only, glamorous space yet one that was both comfortable and reflected the period nature of their home with some stand out pieces. Here, I created a neutral backdrop in a calming warm grey and added in a mixture of both traditional and contemporary pieces. This juxtaposition between the traditional shape of the armchairs and sofa, for example, and the angular floor lamps really sets both alight. Opulent blue velvet curtains, a tiered crystal chandelier, and the sculptural coffee table provide the glamorous elements my clients were seeking. I also designed and had made a deep blue bespoke built in bar. What more do you need for a stylish evening aperitif?
